Hi Jeff,
It isn't so much stability or speed I'm interested in, up to a point stability can be 'learned'. Outright speed isn't the goal either, though slow isn't great, it's ease through the water that I like. A 'slippery' hull will make way easier, use less energy at your normal speed range. This translates to making way even in higher wind speeds.
It also gets comments like "you paddle very elegantly". :D What a nice thing to hear. :)
