Thanks for the comments on Aspen. It just caught my eye while at Lowes the other day. It was fairly light weight and was reasonably priced. I was attracted mostly to the color and lack of knots and visible grain. As I said earlier, I want to stain it with Analine dye. I have used Bass Wood and I even have some of it in my pile. It's a local wood. It is more yellow than the Aspen. However, it's great to work with.
Actually I am not building a boat this time, I'm building a Strip built Teardrop Trailer, similar to this superb build.
