Ah, were there only a way to have used this miracle, this epoxy, on my first marriage, my money, my second dog, first cat........
...my youth.....
Wait! In fact, my newly rediscovered youth is definitely dependent upon epoxy--it's covering my kayak.
Or as Sam Spade once said about something less real than epoxy, "It's the stuff dreams are made of."

My two cents specifically on Greenland paddles is that many are not sealed, or sealed only-but not glassed. Personally, I can't imagine using anything except epoxy to lay up layers for a paddle-or any other tool meant to be continuously wet, support my safety, and be vigorously used.
With all respects to my experienced betters, "I've never had a problem...." is not a supportable argument.
What's the downside? gloves, respirator, clean-up, balanced against a paddle that has a high risk of absorbing PVA glue dissolving water . . .
Also I use Titebond 3 on my kayak stripping as well, but accept that this usage may be over kill.
