In California there are similar restrictions. For more than a year all I heard when I went looking for some of restricted stuff was complaining. One day I was at Rockler and learned that the 'banned' substances were in fact still legal and available in smaller quantities, quarts, but not in gallons. A pain if you're running a commercial shop, but not a bother for small projects.

Growing up in Michigan the local anarchists used to drive to Ohio for fireworks and other dangerous stuff, maybe there's a border state with the banned substances.
