My plan is to build several kayaks a year so I need to be as efficient as possible. My thought was to set up two laminate trim routers on a table approximately 12" wide x 72" long. One router would be fixed in place with the other adjustable horizontally about 3/4". That way I can run strips 1" wide down to 3/8" wide doing both sides of the strip at the same time and automatically sizing them all to exact width. As long as I use 1/4" thick strips there will be no need to adjust bit height.

I very seldom have an original idea but if I can see a photo of someone else's intelligent 'brain storm' I can usually build it and modify to fit my needs.

I realize at 65 yrs. old this is a big plan but I am one that needs to stay busy and I need to occupy my brain. Learning everything I am going to need to learn should use up the next 3-4 years.
