I am well aware of Aircraft applications of Dacron, you don't grow up in Alaska without some rib stitching and shooting some " dope" I also have patched way to many small rips and stick holes I don't think aircraft covering is what I am looking for. Thanks for the input though. Hmm maybe I should build a "Grumman" Kayak and cover it in .040 Alclad ( aircraft Aluminum for those of you outside the light place biz)

So what weight grade material AM I looking for ? I see that the Skin boat School carries 1050 ballistic nylon and 850 ... there are a LOT of skin covered boats out there, I guess I am looking for a consensus and I all ready know there is not one. I will get as many recommendations as there are boaters I am sure. I guess I will just have to try some stuff and see what I like.
