One problum you may have is tear-out or chipping of the cove. I found that with most strips I have made, it was better if I fed the strip through in one direction for the bead and the opposite direction for the cove. This was because the grain usually ran slightly at a angle to the strip. I probably tend to feed the strip to fast. But I would get a much better bead or cove in one direction then the other.
