While I can see that technique working well with commercial glass tape, or even straight cut tape from cloth, how would you keep bias cut tape from completely falling apart with all the massaging in the bag and unrolling on the boat? Also, you still need some sort of applicator (brush, roller and/or squeegee) to smooth the tape and remove excess resin.
