What I don't see is a roof rack for your kayak on the trailer. It would be easy to put in two supports on the inside of the roof where they would not be visible from outside, nor would they obstruct airflow. A removable rack could then fit flush with the trailer roof, keeping it low and reducing air drag. With a shallow "A" shaped rack you can carry two kayaks. Tie down straps connect to the internal supports with bolts and "t" nuts. The trailer tongue is a good place to put a bowline for safety, and you can mount a "D" ring under the trailer for a tiedown point for sternlines. Adding the weight of one or two kayaks to the trailer may make it easier to decide on your axles, too.
