: However its quite heavy, as heavy as my old perception corsica and
: the weight is unbalanced when you lift it. Its quite nose heavy. . .
: I put it on the water last night, it runs smoothly, and absolutely
: no leaks. The nose is not obviously digging in but it is not
: much/any faster than a plastic.
As long as the boat sits properly at its waterline when it is in the water, I wouldn't be concerned about how it balanced in air. When you lift it you are outside of the boat. When you sit inside the boat, though, your body's weight is not going to be centered. Since you'll be seated, your legs will be in front of your torso.
If the seat location places your body in a position where the boat is level on the water, then everything is fine. Otherwise, you'll want to change the seat location or add ballast. If you just need a few pounds of ballast, empty plastic soda bottles work nicely. No cost, transport them empty and fill them just before setting off.
I understand some people prefer ice and canned beverages for their ballast.
