I nearly fainted when I walked into Home Depot one day and they had TWO of the Granite Top saws- before the "street date" that Ridgid had set for them to go on sale, but HD put them out for sale AND they marked them down the same day. Stupid me, I went home to think about it, and came back and they were gone. It would have been great to keep on the porch, but honestly I really love this portable saw I got, and I am perfectly happy. I just wondered if Ridgid was going to further explore the granite top. I think it's a great idea, especially for contractor tools that have to endure the rigors of job sites. I am considering having a local granite shop cut a granite top for the router table I have in my mind for the next project. I have seen a few other top-end brands offering granite tops for their tools. I'm hoping the trend continues. A granite jointer bed? A granite bandsaw or drill press table? Hmmm...
