It's been a while, moved premises took quite a long holiday and now back into kayak building.

I'll be taking my sof out into some very rocky shores next month and i think it's better to prevent than to cure on the spot so i'd like to add a football shaped piece of 8oz poly on the bottom. Is there a tape out there that actually sticks to polyester fabric ? The idea is to put on the tape where i want to cut with scissors so the fabric doesn't ravel (i use the same technique to cut fiberglass cleanly, tape comes of when the glass saturates).

The other option is to use pinking shears, but it still ravels a bit but a lot less though.

I want to work directly on the kayak, so using a soldering iron is no option, and it leaves a ridge. Put on the fabric, varnish so it stays put and cut to shape.
