Racing kayaks do not have any hard edges below the water line except for the keel, which matches perfectly with the direction water flows over it while it's moving through water. The stringers do not. I have whitewater kayaks with edges and curves all over the place, but they are not for racing, they're for playing.

: If you think just because it is SOF that is slow, you going to be surprised.

Never said that it's slow, but it's certainly not anywhere near optimal for racing.
