Your Great Auk is even better looking than your Guillemot.

I am following along your path. Building the Guillemot from Nick's book. I put all of the offsets into an Excel spreadsheet and then transferred them to TurboCad to print out full-size patterns. But I have a long way to go. My strips are cut, bead and coved, and stock-piled. The stands are done. Some of the forms are cut out, and one of the internal wooden stems has been shaped. I figure about 2 to 3 more weekends before I am ready to lay my first strip. I estimate that it will take the better part of a day to get the strongback set-up, once all of the forms have been cut out on plywood. If all goes well, I hope to have a kayak in the spring of 2011.
