: Your Great Auk is even better looking than your Guillemot.

: I am following along your path. Building the Guillemot from Nick's
: book. I put all of the offsets into an Excel spreadsheet and
: then transferred them to TurboCad to print out full-size
: patterns. But I have a long way to go. My strips are cut, bead
: and coved, and stock-piled. The stands are done. Some of the
: forms are cut out, and one of the internal wooden stems has been
: shaped. I figure about 2 to 3 more weekends before I am ready to
: lay my first strip. I estimate that it will take the better part
: of a day to get the strongback set-up, once all of the forms
: have been cut out on plywood. If all goes well, I hope to have a
: kayak in the spring of 2011.

That's a good realistic schedule specially for the first boat. Nice having the time to take your time doing this, it's a fun process if you can take your time :) ( I somehow seemed to use the word time too many times here )

Gives lots of "well I want to sit and look at Nick's book" time, or "I want to sit in this chair and stare at my progress" time :)
