Tradition would call for eastern white cedar, hackmatack and maybe some white oak in places I believe, it would be a little denser and tougher than wrc in the hull imo.
If I was to do one I would consider using 6mm ocoume for the hull.
No pics but I'll look in my Herrshoff books later.
