Hi Brian,
I read the reviews of this jig and I think I can overcome the problems. 1) I am using 3/8" glass and emery paper so continual height adjustment is not a problem 2) If I use spacers on the sides of the blade to keep it centered in the jig I should eliminate most of the tipping problem and 3) I am not a 'fine woodworker' I am sharpening a $3 plane to remove excess cedar before sanding. I am not in need of real precision or 1 degree cutting angles I just need sharp and an easy way to bring the blade back to sharp.
