Took her to the water for a quick spin this morning. I didn't spend but just a few mintues in it but I was impressed! I really like the way this boat paddled. It is based off of my Long Shot hull and be made it into a Baidarka. Well, sort of. As I said before it is my version of a modern Baidarka. Large cockpit. more stability and a little different styling at the stern. Things the average less advanced paddler wants.

I worked on a new style or method of framing around the cockpit to get rid of the frame in the calf muscle and with any new idea you wonder how it will work. I have gotten used to it and don't notice the frame in my calf much anymore. But it was such a joy to paddle without it. I am going to go back and redesign the frames on all my designs like this. I was about to reskin my Long Shot but I will wait till I redraw the frames and replace what I have with this!

i was afraid of the frame flexing in some strange way but didn't notice any. It actually seems a bit more rigid than the Long Shot and that was one of my goals. Tracking was also better. I like the slight looseness of Long Shot myself but I know most people don't.

I am meeting Coy tonight and letting him paddle it. I have to take it back and tie up a couple of loose ends but I know he is dying to paddle his new boat, I would be. Maybe tomorrow while he is at work and I can sneak off and spend a couple or hours with the GPS and paddle it before I return it to him.
