Yeah, K.I.S.S. it, pal! I use quarter inch nylon rope and cleats from the hardware store, and that's it. 'Course, my tin can carport couldn't have been constructed more handy for my purposes, and it helps to be short too.

The system is almost unbelievably easy to use and super convenient. When ready to hang a boat I drop a loop for the middle and cleat it off, which makes it easy to stick the boat in, then just lift the boat with one hand while taking up slack in rope with the other. I seldom have reason to touch the bow loop.

What I'm trying to figure out is why/how the boats get covered with a layer of dirt in three or four months time? They're directly under the roof, and it isn't like I live on a dirt road or otherwise have a lot of airborne Okie Dust Bowl effects going on around here.
