: The trip was short but very nice. We had heavy overcast most of the
: time so photgraphy was limited on this trip. Crowds were worst
: than I have ever experienced but I understand it is usually
: worse in August. It is truly a spectacular place even with the
: crowds. My oldest daughter couldn't make it but her husband was
: happy to fill in on his first trip to the PNW. I will let the
: pictures I did take tell the story.

A few years ago, I was lucky enough to do a day trip there led by Jean-Francois Marleau, the guy who literally wrote the book ("Kayaking the Broken Group Islands"). It's a fun guidebook that includes some interesting stories about people who have lived in the islands.
