Nick, the point I was trying to make for non-sailors is to be on the lookout for sailboats specially in the quarter that it's easy to see. I thought this was obvious, apparently not.

Also worth noting that sailboats often race (official races, not just going somewhere quickly) and I've argued forever about it but proper watch often isn't kept by racers to keep weight out of the bows. (don't yell at me, I've not raced in 30 years)
