: those kayaks with my feet forward, not at 90*. It takes a good
: bit of muscle to keep them at 90*, and you could be using the
: energy that muscle is using for more endurance when you paddle.

: makes the hamstrings much tighter and makes it more difficult to
: do something like touch your nose to your knees. When you're in
: a moderny kayak, putting them at 90* fits well with the

Not having paddled either I cant comment directly, but being a fat stiff slug I can say that more people will have an issue with the flat leg thing!
From what I can tell just sitting in my not quite complete frame it feels unusual to sit flat and at least I feel like I am "out of control" It does NOT feel like my most powerful position and I am certain it will force other muscles to do as they were intended. kind of an isometric thing.
