On my first ride in a single engine bush plane (a Cessna) we were flying in on the Talkeetna River in Alaska for a commercial raft trip my son was guiding. The initial objective was flooded out so we were flying into a cat-track strip carved out by a hunting outfitter. My son took the first flight in with a bunch of the gear and I took the second one with more, to start setting up camp.
My smart mouth had unintentionally offended the pilot so he wasn't too communicative. He set the plane down on the 'landing strip' (think single track gravel next to the river) and about 2/3 of the way down the windshield was suddenly covered with water. The last third of the strip was flooded, which ensured a short run out but got my heart gong. I'm sure he did it on purpose, and I'm equally sure I deserved the surprise.
