This one was built by a friend of mine, at least 15 years ago. he said he built it from an article in Wooden Boat, but maybe it was the Sea Kayaker article Alex referenced, because the boat has the same ambition to be a submarine. My friend eventually built another one with more fullness in the bow, and gave me this one. Only the seams are glassed and it's bulkhead free, so it's very light. I took the seat out and sitting with my back against the coaming makes it a little less prone to burying the bow. I'm tempted to glue some foam blocks to the bow and carve them to look like a hammerhead shark, adding both buoyancy and personality!
