I am currently lofting Tom's offsets into a CAD program. With Tom's permission I can send the files to you. It wont be done for a week or two though. I would discourage you from attempting scaling up the pictures, photos are known for distortion, digital media even more. Lofting the forms with a ruler is easy esp. with the metric numbers. A meter stick would be a good start.

I built the Sea Flea before and did most of the lofting on the wood. Easy build. As an artist you will be pleasantly suprised that each boat is its own length. You bend the stringers till it "looks right." After the strip build that was quite scary. Email Tom directly about the single chine Sea Bee plans and he is very good about answering questions about his FREE plans.

: Hmm, I Can't speak directly to multi chine question as I have yet
: to paddle mine. but I am building a Sea Tour 15 EXP ( mostly
: because I am too fat for the others). it is a multi chine design
: and honestly there is nothing realy hard about it. I have over
: thought a few things and gotten confused a few times and come
: here for answers. The numbers thing with the cross sections is
: really quite simple. If you go to any Big Box store and purchase
: a metal straight edge (yard stick) just look for one that has
: both metric and SAE markings on it. Then use the metric offsets,
: that will eliminate all of the math. What I did was to make me
: some templates of the Cross sections. I should take some
: pictures I basically just drew a base line and a centerline on a
: piece of card board then put a small hole at all of the offset
: points, so I can use my template and a finishing nail to
: transfer them to the wood. There is really no math in
: "lofting" you offsets, it is just measuring ( provided
: you use the metric ones or have an engineering scale so that you
: don't have to convert to fractional inches ) under the wood
: frame construction portion Tom has a section devoted on using
: the offsets. I would suggest getting a large piece of paper and
: trying it. if you still have questions come back and ask some
: more.
