I built the Shooting Star for what it is: a sort of sports car, whereas the NS and FS are more like GTs. The SS I think has a total payload of about 200 lbs, and the hull shape is not a revision of the NS hull, but rather a different, blank sheet design. The FS hull, however, is a reduction of the NS hull, suitable for smaller paddlers, I suppose, and shorter trips. All Rob's baidarkas have good room fore and aft, due to the rather full ends--even the SS. The SS is a blast in rough water and for surfing, a bit splashy on flat lakes, and always a real looker.
