I often wonder why we don't see more like these where I come from, living in a sub tropical climate.
The clubbie skis with the "hammerhead" are specifically designed for surf exit/entry racing. They place the paddler very high and are very tippy. Modern, non SLSA surfskis such as the Epics/Fenns/Hukis/Thinks are faster and much more stable as the paddler sits quite low, particularly the entry level models )the HP models require some skills for sur). They excel in open ocean conditions and there primary function is for downwind paddling.
I personally can't see the point of Nick's Sea spirit but each to their own
