I am finishing a canoe built with reclaimed redwood strips from a deck. There is a fair amount of redwood left over, some stripped and some in 3/4"x13/16" sticks.
This is 35 year old architectural grade clear redwood in lengths from 8' to 20'. The strips that I have made are 3/16" x 13/16" and they are pretty uniformly cut for homemade strips. Two thirds of the strips are weathered on one side - I cut three strips from a 3/4" board with a thin kerf blade, so only the center strip is unaffected by weather. There are probably enough strips to do another Wee Lassie II or maybe half of a kayak.
I can either spend the time to carefully store these, burn them, or peddle them. They are too nice to burn IMHO, but I recognize that I may only be hoarding to "put them up".
I am willing to make these available to others who would actually use them in short order. Don't ask if you don't have a project in mind and a burning desire to get going. If you fall into this category, let me know and I'll come up with a better inventory so you will know what I have and we can talk about a sale or trade.
