I have just finished my Night Heron kit from CLC boats. Figure this 67 year old...total beginner... spent around 350 hours on this booger. Used kit for bottom but went for lots of exotic woods ( Padoouk, Yellow Canary, Wenge, Brazilian Teak, Maple and Walnut for the deck. Also experimented at both ends with veneers that I drew and cut out of rosewood. FIRST (and last) time doing woodworking stuff. Was a blast...but...whew...so much to learn for a beginner. BUT, am very happy with way it came out...very happy.
