The deck was first varnished, then a coloured varnish was applied (with a lot of difficulty to get an even colouring) and then this was covered with varnish again.

The rubrails are 1mm thick pvc strips. It comes in a strip of about 40 mm wide, i removed the double stick tape as it barely stuck to the hull, then reapplied heavy duty double sided tape and cut them up in 2 3/4 inch strips.

The bow and stern rub strips are also 1 mm thick pvc.

And the seat is quite hollowed so i sit prettty close to the bottom and stability is very good i think.
