Thanks Bob! The sixth photo down is Doug Rhude's Pax 20 again, and appears in a couple more of those photos too.

I another post commodore Hamm wrote in part: ".....you'd have to do some design work to compensate for that or you can get a fairly floppy hull. Much like a canoe without substantial rub rails." He's aiming at the same thing I was when I mentioned thwarts. If you remove the thwarts from a canoe, you instantly find out why they're there. Basically, it's either going to be a deck, or thwarts, take yer pick.
