I now almost always lash (sometimes w/glue), and rarely ever use pegs. I have, also, used screws and epoxy a number of times. As long as you carefully pre-drill your holes in the plywood - using the correct size bit for your screws - then it works just dandy. Be sure to use rustproof screws.
I still prefer lashing.
