I officially gave up on trying to strip without staples today using the glue gun. I had put my sheer strips on the forms using the heat gun to bend the strips and the hot melt glue gun to hold them down. This was not working as well as I had hoped at the bow where the rocker kicks in, but when I tried to add the second strip the heat required to bend this strip caused the glue, the tape, and everything else to just let loose from the forms. So I threw in the towel, went to the store and got some 1/2 inch staples and started over. All is fine now and the strips are conforming to the forms much better now. At least I gave it a shot.

I need to get some webbing to go between the staples and the strips and try that trick next.
