I heard a day later(?) that TV3 news changed that to "kayak" which is what I presumed it was to start with.

It does emphasis the need to ALWAYS tie the bow down.

News items only indicate something might have happened, somewhere, some time, maybe. One can get very cynical about news reporting.

Our 7.1 earthquake, the same size as Haiti's -

Incidentally wild stories about looting after our recent earthquake - usual opportunist (1 or was it 2) passing by but nothing more. Also the epicentre was reported at one place but was a long way from there and a lot of the rest were underneath my kayak workshop .... The datum used was a small village where as our town is 3 times the size. Other datums for after shocks, a small village (so small no gas station) where as the shock was on the edge of a 1/2 million population city.... and so on...
