I put boats on the roof like twice a year, 99% of the time I take the trailer, holds the boats much more securely (racks are 8' apart) and is just much easier and the boats are at waist height for loading. Of course you have to have a trailer first. It's my part time pickup truck ;)

I miss having a truck, but since I don't do this professionally anymore it's just too expensive to own for play.
