Hi Dave, when I finished my Night Heron stripper and was ready for varnish I cut the hatches out put them aside to build the hatch
platform then was called away from the project for a week, on returning to building project I found the hatches relaxed a slight bit
enough for me to see. So I would consider making a jig that conforms to the deck and clamp it until you finish bracing the underside
of the deck hatch. Nick R.
