: Hey all,

: Took my (first) GP out for a test paddle prior to finishing last
: weekend, and I noticed that the area of the paddle where the
: heel of your palm rests felt thick and interfered with the
: stroke. The loom itself is comfortable, but paddling is a bit
: uncomfortable compared to other GP's I've tried, regardless of
: the amound of cant I use.

: I know there are typical dimensions for loom & blade length and
: thickness, but I don't see much about the diamond area where
: your non-index fingers rest. Anybody know "typical"
: measurements? I have medium-sized hands.

Stephen,

You need to look at shoulder design. There are many ways to do this. I prefer soft shoulders some like hard ones and some shave them completely off. The only part of my hands normally on the loom are my thumbs. The body of the hand sits on the shoulders, so you definately want them comfortable.
