Let me begin by saying that I'm not sure this post belongs in this forum. With that said, this community has been very helpful in the past, and I simply don't know where else to ask.
A while back I bought a cheap wing paddle from the no-name company "Bobcat Sports Gear". I liked the paddle fine the few times I got to use it. The shaft is too slick, the locking mechanism doesn't quite lock tight enough - but for the price I liked the feel of the paddle....
That is until the paddle blade snapped clean off about 2 inches below where it meets the shaft in the middle of a stroke! The material appears to be very aerated/porous which makes me think it was a manufacturing defect. Problem is the company is MIA, does not list a phone number, and does not respond to emails.
Background story aside: I would like to replace the blade with another wing paddle blade but can't find anywhere that sells just blades. The shaft is completely round with an outside diameter of ~1.3cm / 1 5/16". I would prefer to find a replacement wing shaped blade, but at this point would settle for a quality dihedral also.
If all else fails I may attempt to make strip blade following Nick Shade's directions and glue those to the carbon shaft - Has anyone tried this?
Thanks for the responses,
