As for me, my rim is glued up all at once with Titebond II, takes one afternoon to cold mold it using the riser as the mold, one afternoon to finish out and make ready for installation. I glue rim to riser with Cab-O-Sil thickened epoxy, clamp with spring clamps, am able to get 'er perfectly clean, and with a tiny fillet underneath. I finish up the job by carefully drilling 1/8" holes thru the riser into the lip and pegging with dowels. Mark drill bit with tape for depth. I space dowels about every third or fourth vertical riser strip. Makes a very strong coaming.

I thought the dowels would look kinda cool (but then, I think staple holes look kinda cool), but actually they tend to disappear and be amazingly difficult to locate.
