I switched to beveling a good while ago and was really amazed at how easy it was. I got perfectly tight joints. Here's a 2" radius rail on a wood stand up paddleboard being done in hand-beveled strips. Notice how the strips wrap around the rail about 3/4 of the way down the board and so the bevel angle changes. I pretty much just guessed at it at that point and it came out very tight.
