I used to use B&C for all my boats. I liked how the strips automatically aligned with each other. That said, cutting the beads and coves in the tapered ends was always a pain in the butt but I got pretty good at it. On a couple of Black Pearls I used straight-cut strips because of the flat panels the design has. On my current Night Heron project I knew the sapele would be tough to bead and cove so went to bevelling every strip. The deck curve is pretty consistent, so I pre-bevelled the strips on the table saw (say 5%). It saved a bunch of hand work. Beveling took so much less time than B&C.
