I've done it in a space 2' longer on each end (barely enough) and 8' wide and it worked but it's tight, this is with all the parts pre-cut. You'll need at least this much width because you at some point need to remove the deck to finish the hull, so the hull and deck need separate spaces and still be able to work on both sides of the hull/deck. Comfortable space would be a single car garage, 10' wide by 20' long. More space is better.
