No problems Dave. Like I said in my original post, they were just a few thoughts without practical experience to back any of it up, so if you have proven otherwise I'm happy to accept I was off the mark.

I didn't say the extra weight of the laminated beam would be an issue. I just said it would be heavier, which it will be. I agree with you.. at the end of the day it won't be a problem.

I think you mis-read my point 3) & 4) though. In 3) I said was that laminating straight then bending to shape is not good. In point 4) I suggested laminating in shape is a much better solution, in which we agree.
