I don't have the name of the foam tape but I did get it from a True Value hardware store. It's about 3/8" wide and a 1/4" thick.

I'm glad the glideskin seals have worked for you. Heat tape can be a pain to work with. Sounds like a good idea to just glue something along the seam.
