Apply at least two (2) strips on both sides of the keel line.

Strip up from the sheer line and continue all the way round the bilge (the curved transition from the side of the hull
to the hull bottom), then fill out from the keel strips.

No one will see the difference between a small (football) stripped hull bottom or a hull stripped following the sheer line
all the way to the keel line (per your original post) unless you plan to send a lot of time upside down.

Cut narrower strips as needed to make the strip seam align with the bow gap and the tail strips. You'll know it when you get there.

Your number one task is to align strip edges. Pre-fit each strip, and DRY clamp it in place, so you find any problem spots BEFORE you apply glue.

This way you will see spots that will be a challenge to make fit and have to use some of the tricks I explain in the plans to hold strips in hard to clamp spots.

If you take the time now to fit each strip and get the edges aligned as well as possible you will SAVE work and time later, eliminating hours of sanding, scraping,
and fairing the inside AND outside.
