The stern tether is a great idea, especially since it's not easy to elevate the stern by pushing down on the bow when the balance point is close to the bow as well.

: I would consider a small tetter totter on the window to distribute
: the weight or a pull line hooked to the stern so you could pull
: up on the stern when you push down on the bow.
