Hi All
Since the quick first paddle at the time of launching, I've managed to paddle "Wrinkle" twice - each session for about an hour in 10 mph winds.
First impressions (after getting used to the tippiness - thanks for the tip Bill, Hmmmm no pun intended) is that it tracks like a locomotive and there is only the slightest hint of weathercocking. Waterline length must be 16.5 ft. Overall length is 17 ft. As might be expected it is not too easy to turn without some degree of edging.
There has not been much wave activity, given the slight winds, but I think it will probably cut through significant waves rather than rise over them - could be a wet boat in certain conditions. It is faster than it appears - I get around well known courses in less time than I think I am taking.
During the coming week local high water will be during daylight hours and a low pressure is due so I hope to get out in some rougher conditions for more testing.
After some adjustment of foot rest distance and thigh/knee pad position, installation of a foam seat and padding of the plywood frame where my lower legs seem to rest, the boat is now quite comfortable.
I think I'm going to really like paddling "Wrinkle".
Cheers, TomR
