The lightly built SOF I use now would be hard to safely mount most foot pumps on. I've tried jamming a foam block in to act like a foot rest, but it falls over a lot.

Then there is rate of flow. A re-enter and roll sometimes puts 50 gallons into my kayak. (I've can't reliably put on the spray skirt underwater before rolling.) More if my the airbags fail.

Those of you with plastic or composite kayaks "know" that doesn't apply to you. But, covers and spray skirts leak or get sucked off, and bulkheads fail.

So I think something that pumps a few gallons or less per minute, like a hand pump, or the tiny foot pump that started this thread, is iffy.
