You are a few months more ancient than I am and sound just as quirky. As far as I know Freeship is no longer available. A free version of Delftship has replaced it and I understand that it is a development of Freeship.

Just reading your email gives me some new insights into using the program. I will spend more time on Delftship and follow the steps that you suggest. As I have a strong background in traditional mathematics, I will also continue to follow up the conical development idea. I still feel confidant that the front half of the right hand bottom panel on both the Point Bennett and Chesapeake 17 is part of a single cone with an apex some distance in front of the bow, close to level with the lowest point of the keel and some distance to left of the keel line. There would be a mirror image for the left hand panel and a similar story for the stern panels.
