I did basically the same thing for my rear bulkhead since it's visible thru the cockpit, cept I used a left over piece of carbon fiber and laid some glass on the back side to make it stiffer. The front bulkhead is just glass. I use mylar window film stretched and shrunk over a piece of plywood as a "mold", the mylar makes a good release for epoxy.
